Limited Edition Silver Ring

I have created a limited collection of ten unique solid silver rings. Each ring is different, they all have a sense of geometry and minimalism - the common theme which brings them together is they all have a little added detail of texture.

I love the balance between the grooved texture, which is created during the making process, and the flat highly polished smooth areas. Personally I enjoy toying with my jewellery while I am wearing it so contrast in the surface is always a must. This tactile quality allows the fingers to gently explore the different exterior finishes. Silver has a lovely quality to it, it reacts to external temperatures so warms gently with the heat of your body, which gives it a soothing feel. Embracing. Silver is antibacterial which is always a plus.

The rings are comfortable to wear as function is just as important as form in my work and nobody should feel discomfort from jewellery. Timeless in their design, these rings will last you a lifetime and more. No fast fashion here! Each ring is hallmarked by the London Assay Office, which is a guarantee of the quality of the silver used.

Created by the lost wax process, I made these rings initially in wax. The wax rings were then replicated exactly in silver, using investment casting. Upon return the flat silver surfaces of the rings are slightly pitted, this is when teeny little holes are caused in the casting process so these are then filed and sanded until they are completely smooth. The advantage of being a solo maker means I am in charge of my own quality control and prefer to spend additional time on these areas to make sure each ring is finished to as high a standard as possible. Once the pits have been completely removed I hand polish each ring to give a long lasting deep high shine. There are a few different ways to polish silver but I find this method - while it is the most messy and time consuming - gives the best standard of finish by far, and furthermore it is long lasting which means your ring stays brighter for longer, resulting in less maintenance from you.
