Which workshop is right for you?

“A fun way to learn new skills in a calm and welcoming environment.”

"As a friendly, calm and informative experience. Super fun and you get to leave with a really lovely piece of your own jewellery!"

“I had such a lovely morning and have been recommending the ring-making workshop to all my friends and family"

This quick run down explains the difference between the workshops to help you to decide which one is best suited to you.

I have split the workshops into two categories; Experience sessions, and skills development sessions.

Experience sessions are perfect if:

  • You are looking for something new and fun to do

  • You want to try your hand at making jewellery and have no experience

  • You want to experience making something from start to finish within one session

Skills development sessions are perfect if:

  • You want to try your hand at making silver jewellery as a new hobby

  • You want to learn all things silver jewellery with a view to making it a side hustle

  • You may have a little experience in this but want to focus on particular areas of making, hone your skills and elevate the quality of the pieces you design and make.

Experience sessions

Suitable for absolute beginners

I have a variety on offer, and a good starting place is the textured ring or stacking rings workshop, as everyone loves rings. In this workshop you will cover most of the basics which will give you a really good insight and foundation to build upon - sawing, filing, accurately measuring, forming, soldering, finishing, and polishing. Don't worry if that sounds a lot, I demonstrate each step before you get a go yourself, and I am on hand the entire time to give you as much, or as little, help as you need.

The other sessions, including necklaces, earrings, bangles etc are also perfectly suitable for complete beginners also. If you would like to make something I haven't listed, please do get in touch as I can always create a bespoke session for you (providing it is something achievable, and that is something we can discuss and make adjustments where necessary).

While these sessions have a guide of the time they will take, they are not fixed. The session lasts as long as it needs to last - you are in charge of the pace and it takes as long as it takes. So there is no need to think that you aren't doing things fast enough, all you need to worry about is enjoying yourself! It is important to me that you feel relaxed while you are making your jewellery.

Skills development sessions

Improve your skills

These are exactly what they say - for those who have got a bit of experience but would like to hone their skills further. It is so easy to get caught up with making that spending dedicated time on each process is often overlooked. Time spent focusing on a process, with the pressure of having a finished piece removed, is well spent as you learn that process inside out. Not only will you become more proficient at that technique but due to learning it inside out you will naturally become better at problem solving during the making process.

I will give you lots of tips to help with all areas of future making, and we can chat about any other questions you may have about all things silver.

I will be launching a new course for those who wish to learn how to make recycled silver at home with a view to turning it into a career this September.

If you would like a bespoke skills development session please just ask.
