Silver Casting - Reuse and Recycle - Workshop

Suitable for those who I’ve taught before, and would like to learn how to cast silver pieces using your scrap. Particularly suitable for those wishing to delve into this at home, we will cover the processes, the health and safety, and all of the equipment you will need. I can advise where to buy the value for money tools, and which ones are necessary so you don’t end up with ones you’ll never use.
We will cover sand casting, where you will be invited to bring an item ready to be cast into silver, and also how to use silver and a charcoal block to create a lovely organic ring. Both of these processes will become your best friend in reusing all this little bits of silver you acquire during the making process.
The pace will be relaxed and there will be plenty of time for as many questions as you would like to ask. This course is your chance to have access to a professional and ask anything and everything, while learning the skills.

The size of casting is limited to keep within the constraints of the amount of silver you will have to use. We will discuss the size of item you can bring prior to the session, and preferable for you to bring a few so we can access which will give the best outcome on the day.
You can carve your item out of wax, I can discuss how you can do this ahead of the session.
