Tarlair Lido

I have wanted to visit this majestic place since the first time I saw photos of it. A former Art Deco style lido nestled in the side of a just down the road from Banff, now in a state of slight disrepair.

Wet Wet Wet once played to a sold out audience here, randomly, but what a setting! Although it is in a little need of some attention, the day I visited happened to be the hottest day of the year so bright blue clear skies made the perfect backdrop.

A big fan of the minimal lines and repetition seen in Art Deco, I took in the sights and have plenty of photos to use as research for a future project based on the forms seen at the Lido.

Aberdeenshire Council are going to refurbish it soon and bring it back to its former glory, I cannot wait to see that when I visit here again!

You can see more of my photos of the lido here and here.
