Finishing and Polishing Skills Workshop - suitable for those wishing to further develop their jewellery skills
Maximum 1 person per session. Must have basic experience already. If you are a complete beginner you will need to attend one of the jewellery making sessions first.
Duration 2 hours
These sessions are perfect for those who have a bit of silversmithing and jewellery experience and are ready to dedicate time to the foundations. We will spend dedicated one on one time focussing on your needs, and ensuring you have a greater understanding of the tools and processes to help you in your future work. Finishing an item well can make the difference between it being a piece of jewellery, and a high-quality piece of jewellery.
During this session we will work on different methods of finishing your work to a high standard, smoothing all edges, and how to pre-polish and polish each item up to a high shine. The difference between something made, and something made well.
I will demonstrate each process then be on hand while you have a go. We will cover finishing and polishing in depth and you will also be able to ask any questions you have relating to silversmithing and I can give you tips and advice across the board.
Feel free to bring a list of questions so we can make sure I cover everything you would like to know, giving you the benefit of my many years of experience and professional training.
