Etched Brass
These earrings are lightweight and incredibly comfortable to wear. Created from etched brass and finished with a solid silver ear post and earring back. Each earrings is unique as while the shapes remain the same, no two will have exactly the same pattern placement.
The brass started life as part of a collection I made, consisting of three sculptural vessels - the sheets of brass were etched and I pierced (sawed) out the pieces I needed to create the sculptures. These earrings have been created from the remaining sheet. Nothing goes to waste, it all has a purpose!
Each pair is handmade by me in Norfolk, and comes in a gift box which is made from recycled card, and is recyclable.
In 2023 I was commissioned to create a solid silver ghost as an anniversary gift. I enjoyed making the ghost so much that this collection was born!
Beginning life as a block of wax I carved away until I was happy with my little ghost friend. This took a long time, I wanted it to be just right.
The wax is then used to create a mould, and after the process of casting a replica of the wax is created in recycled solid silver. I finish each ghost by hand so no two are the same. Each and every one is unique and very much has its own personality. A very satisfying weight, these ghosts make their presence known!
The two the larger ghosts are pretty hefty and measure just under 6cm tall, and the smaller ghosts come in at just under 2cm tall, and are still a very enjoyable weight.
