Soldering Skills Workshop - suitable for those wishing to further develop their jewellery soldering skills
Maximum 1 person per session. Must have basic experience already. If you are a complete beginner you will need to attend one of the jewellery making sessions first.

Duration 2.5 hours
These sessions are perfect for those who have a bit of silversmithing and jewellery experience of soldering and are ready to dedicate time to the foundations. We will spend dedicated one on one time focusing on your needs, and ensuring you have a greater understanding of the tools and processes to help you in your future work. Soldering is overlooked but a fundamental part of nearly every piece of jewellery you will make.
During this session I will help you to really understand soldering, why and how it works. There will be exercises to solder jump rings, rings and seams. We will cover sweat soldering, using pallions, a pic, and stick feeding. We will spend time discussing what your needs are, and what you will mostly be working on in future to focus on those processes after the initial overview of each method.
I will demonstrate each process then be on hand while you have a go. We will cover soldering in depth and you will also be able to ask any questions you have relating to silversmithing and I can give you tips and advice across the board. Feel free to bring a list of questions so we can make sure I cover everything you would like to know, giving you the benefit of my many years of experience and professional training.
