Moon Jewellery — recycled silver

This collection has been made to resemble the moon; the pieces are made from recycled silver and the surface has been textured with a specific hammer to give a wonderful undulating surface, reminiscent of the surface of the moon. Subtly reflective with the light shining off the different textures of the silver, the high parts are polished, contrasting against the lower matt areas. All incredibly tactile and lovely to touch. As these are hand-textured, no two pieces will be same.

The silver used is from the bowl parts of the solid silver spoons used for other items in my Revive series, so could date anywhere from 1891 through to the 1970s, although most pieces are from the early 20th century.

The collection includes a necklace, earrings and a pin:

  • The earrings are just under 1cm in diameter and are made with solid silver ear posts and backs.

  • The pendant is 1.5cm in diameter, and a small hallmark on the back from London Assay Office. You can choose your length of silver chain from 16, 18, 20 or 22 inch, at no additional cost.

  • The pin has a diameter approx. 1.7cm and features a steel pin and safety back which has a push/pull release mechanism, making it nice and secure and won’t come loose.

All items are packaged in a Seed Silversmith gift box which has been made from recycled card, and is recyclable.

You can find these in the shop as part of the Revive collection.

All items can also be made in gold, or gold plated. Please get in touch to discuss further.

The Lasdun Collection Recycled Silver and Gold Stud Earrings
from £30.00

Part of the Lasdun collection which was inspired by the architecture of Denys Lasdun, specifically the campus at the University of East Anglia, these chunky little studs can be worn from day through to night. The numbers in the name relate to the angles in the designs.

The body of these earrings have been created using casting, so are all identical. I have filled/tidied up the casting, then soldered an ear post on, tidied and polished. Not only does this method ensure these small angular earrings are identical but its also a material and time efficient process. As you can imagine, cutting and filing these shapes by hand would take an age, but the casting process means I can offer these beauties at an affordable price.

Available with a satin finish in recycled sterling silver, and recycled 9ct yellow gold, both as a pair and as singles.

Other items in this collection include hoop earrings, bangles, and napkin rings.
