/// A BRIEF DEEP DIVE INTO THE RECENT BOOM OF SILVER PRICES ///

I’ve been doing a deep dive into the recent excruciating rise in silver prices. It is rising faster than gold and much faster than inflation which is very concerning and those who work in precious metals are wondering how to navigate a landscape where silver is predicted to be the same price as gold within a decade. To be honest, the rate it is increasing it’s likely to achieve that much sooner than a decade.

Price per kg

1975 £67

2000 £93

2015 £340

2020 £527

2024 £775

December 2025 £1875

January 8th 2026 £2000

January 15th £2184

Look at those last three figures, it’s alarming.

So why are silver prices booming? Silver was always marketed as the affordable precious metal which meant it was perceived to be the cheaper one. But like the others it has a finite supply. With it being used increasingly in technology - including AI - the demand has increased which pushes the price up. With continuine growth in technology the demand for silver is set to increase, and unlikely it will drop back down.

Silver is equal to gold, highly useable, and not an infinite material - and the market is reflecting that.

There are other factors at play pushing the price up; global events, wars, people seeing a precarious future so investing in tangible wealth - bullion. I’m keeping it brief so won’t go into it in detail but it's well worth a deep dive yourself, although quite depressing.

So don’t be surprised when you see silver prices increasing A LOT. I know a lot of us have been sucking up the loss in income due to the increase in material costs but it’s something we can’t continue to do. So when you see the prices increase please remember that we are not getting increased profits, in fact we’ve gone without any for a while in an attempt to keep our prices the same, but it’s more that silver and has come to sit at the table with the others, where it was always meant to be and our prices need to reflect the current prices we pay for it. Sorry in advance! But remember that silver is made from stardust when the earth was created in the big bang, so it really is a special material and is finally being seen as such.
