Recycled Silver Corners Hoop Earrings
Inspired by my love of all things Brutalised and referencing the angles seen in Denys Lasdun’s iconic Ziggurat buildings on the University of East Anglia campus, these hoops come in a choice of two sizes and can be made in either recycled sterling silver, or recycled gold. These have a matte finish which contrasts with a shiny rim.
Like all of my designs these are comfortable to wear and timeless enough in style that they will never look dated, and as such will compliment your wardrobe for decades and generations to come.
Designed and handmade by me in Norfolk, the wire isn’t simply bent to create this shape as that wouldn’t provide the form with any integrity or strength. Instead I use a process called scoring, which removes a V shape of silver from the inside of each corner, so when the silver is folded it creates a lovely crisp corner. This alone proves no stability so I solder a small piece of silver solder into each corner which is the key to creating a lovely strong structure which will keep its shape beautifully.
Larger hoops hang approximately 4cm, smaller hoops hang approximately 2cm.
Please allow up to four weeks for gold versions to be made, this includes time for the hallmarking process at London Assay Office. If you would like your purchase sooner please email me here and I will do my best to reduce the waiting time.
