This beautifully tactile egg cup features a hand-applied reflective texture inspired by the shimmering effect of sunlight dancing on the sea’s surface—what I call a sun-glade.
To ensure lasting beauty and functionality, the egg cup is crafted from solid recycled silver and then gold plated. This is because eggs can cause silver to oxidise (blacken) over time, whereas gold-plated silver maintains its shine and won’t react—making it a practical and elegant choice.
Designed with thought and detail, the base has a concave dip so the egg naturally centres itself, while the thick rim gives the piece extra stability and a satisfying, luxurious weight. The Sun-Glade Collection
The Sun-Glade Collection is inspired by that fleeting moment when sunlight dances across the surface of the sea—what I like to call a sun-glade: the bright reflection of sunlight on an expanse of water.
This everyday recycled silver collection captures that feeling through a unique, hand-applied texture that gives the impression of sunlight bouncing off rippled waves. The texture itself is created using a hammer specially made by my dad, making this a particularly meaningful collaboration. It also means no two pieces are ever the same, just like the ever-changing surface of the sea.
Rooted in my love of year-round sea swimming (yes, even in winter!), the collection includes a pendant and chain, studs, and small hoop earrings—all designed to be worn daily and treasured for years.

Each piece is a complete one-off, handcrafted by me in my studio in Norfolk. I don’t mass-produce my designs, so you can be sure that your Suzanne Seed Silversmith piece is as unique as you are.
