Recycled Silver Tumblers

These wonderfully reflective recycled silver tumblers were made using a technique called hand raising. This is where you start with a flat disc of silver and using a series of very precise hits with different hammers you literally raise the metal up into this 3D form. Sounds simple, it is anything but!

Hand raising is a real labour of love, and you can see each and every hammer blow in its surface. Silver is a great material for a drinking vessel, as an excellent conductor of heat if you pop an ice cube in your drink it will not only chill the drink but the silver too, which in turn chills your drink for longer. If red wine is your thing, the silver will adjust to the ambient room temperature which is exactly what you want. This pair are gold plated inside which protects the silver from being tarnished by the drink and also eliminates any silver taste from the drink. Very easy to look after, warm water and fairy liquid, dry and a good buff with a dry clean cloth and you’re ready to go. Naturally antibacterial too, you really cannot go wrong with silver.

Made with fine silver which is 99.9% pure, as opposed to sterling which is 92.5% pure. Hallmarked by the Sheffield Assay Office.

Handmade by me in my Norfolk studio, using recycled silver and finished with care. Each one is textured by hand, so no two are ever the same.
