1912 Coffee Spoon Recycled Silver Arrow Rings
We know I have a fondness for little coffee spoons with cools ends (the terminal) so was very pleased to find a set of these. You may remember I had a couple a few years ago and they sold straight away so I am happy to release a bigger run of them.
Unlike most spoon rings, I do not simply flatten the bowl and wrap the spoon around itself. I remove the bowl which is then used to create earrings, and I gently smooth the end, then solder it into itself like an Ouroborus. This makes it extremely comfortable to wear - the perfect balance of form (looking lovely) and function (being easy to wear).
Hand made by me with recycled silver.

Inspired by the forms and textured seen in the works of Henry Moore, sculptor during the 20thC. Known for creating semi-abstract bronze sculptures, he utilised a wide range of techniques and media, such as line drawing and cross-hatching, gouache, chalk and crayon.
My work if very rigid and structured, with bold lines. And I have been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and creating irregular fluid natural shapes is a very uncomfortable thing for me to do. So that is what I have been doing.
